Barbara Wittmann is professor of Art History at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). Before coming to the UdK, she taught modern and contemporary art (since 1750) at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main and Humboldt University of Berlin. Between 2006 and 2013, Barbara Wittmann directed research projects on “Tools of Drafting” (IKKM, Bauhaus University Weimar) and “Knowledge in the Making: Drawing and Writing as Research Techniques” (together with Christoph Hoffmann and Hans-Jörg Rheinberger at the Max Planck Institute for the History of Science in Berlin). Her publications include: “Bedeutungsvolle Kritzeleien.
