Leonie Plänkers conducts research at the intersection between urban development, architecture, and society. In 2011, she completed her architecture studies at the Technical University of Darmstadt with a diploma thesis on urban development. She then worked and gained practical experience for several years in the fields of urban development, civic participation, and urban design. Since 2017, Leonie Plänkers has been a research and teaching associate at the Chair of Urban Design at the Technical University of Darmstadt (held by Prof. Dr. Nina Gribat until 2019). In the LOEWE research cluster “Architectures of Order,” she is working on her dissertation, which investigates the impacts of urban reconstruction projects.
